Question:

HELP! I want to prepare for my Christmas Dinner Party early?

Hi. I'm already getting really excited for christmas and have made all my cards already. But i'm thinking that this year, to spice things up and give me something to plan and look forward to even more, and to cut out the monotony of everyone doing the same thing, I'd like to do something alternative and in line with another countries celebrations.

I was thinking Mexican: Red, green, orange and yellow garlands and sombrero hats hanging about, with spicy enchiladas for dinner and chili-chocolate torte for dessert and frozen margaritas!

What do you think? Any better ideas?

  1. Sounds like fun to me.  Go for it but you'll probably want to let your guests know ahead of time so they aren't expecting traditional holiday food.

  2. Wont the food go off a bit if you start now.

  3. Well, alot of that depends on your guests and your heritage. If you are Norwegian, and your serving mexican, its gonna come off a bit weird. If you throw a lot of themed parties and your guests are used to it, go for it. The main thing is to ask can I pull this off? If I went to a party and was served re-fried beans and spicy taco meat when I was expecting ham or turkey, I might be a bit miffed the host or hostess didn't tell me. I might expect it if you were of Mex/Spanish bloodlines, but other than that, put it in your invitation. Good Luck!

  4. NO NO NOT ANOTHER QUESTION ABOUT THE C WORD !!!!!!!!

  5. I personally wouldn't like a "themed" christmas. I like Christmas how it is, with all the normal traditions! If someone in my family started theming Christmas, I wouldn't come back next year!

  6. A bbq would makea nce change to the normal roast, If you want a themed paarty go for the tropics or Hawiian also Australia have bbq's and salads etc because our winter is there summer.

  7. Do a Texan BBQ for Christmas!

Fried Turkey, baked beans, rolls and cornbread (corn casserole is great too) BBQ Ribs, little pigs in a blanket, etc.

Make your ham with cloves and pineapples.

    Something like that!!

  8. What's the matter with you? It's the 4th of ******* August!
