  2. for diamonds go to TRIBHOVAN BHIMJI in mumbai, there are quite few nice places in Mumbai to buy diamonds.

Go to proper show room so you will get all carat's details of diamonds on your bill.

Dont buy diamonds from small local shops , they could cheat you.

clothes. Ritukumar, Manish  malhotra , BENZER they all designer shops in mumbai.

if you google their name , you will get addresses,

    http://www.ritukumar.com/

very famous in Mumbai, they design film starts clothes... not cheap at all. unique and nice.

  3. Diamonds / jewellery should be purchased at proper reputed jewellers so that chances of cheating are less. Tanishq outlets  all over India are guaranteed though they may be on the higher side. You can get your designs made up at Tribhovandas, Mehrasons and other jewellers.  Karol Bagh in Delhi is probably the best for Indian trad clothes - especially for marriage trousseaux, and in Mumbai you must visit Silk Museum at Dadar TT.  Areas like Santacruz West, Linking Rd, Parle East all have good reputed stores selling traditional clothes at mid to higher end budgets, mostly aimed at the marriage market. http://www.indiahotelreview.com/  is a good site to check on hotels at all budget ranges.  You can organise sightseeing tours better after you reach your destination.  Look in the local newspaper classified sections, there is no dearth of tour operators, also your hotel will be able to suggest some. An easier way is to rent a car for as many days as you want, all are with driver, Indica AC rents for about Rs1000 for 80km, this way you can go where you want at your convenience and comfort without any parking hassles, and your shopping can be dumped in the car as you purchase it!  Check the local paper classifieds for best deals.  www.mid-day.com is good for Mumbai classifieds.  In Delhi, all hotels have a booklet Delhi Diary for the fortnight, which has classifieds for all these services.
