  1. Traffic citations, other than OWI related,  are not permanent.


  2. It will go on your dirving abstract in Illinois at least. That will pretty much cover you driving history from day 1. It will not likely be on the computer check for more than 12 months.

    So, you can have a "permanent record" but only if someone pays to have a driving abstract sent to them or a police agency sends for it. The "instant" computer check will usually be good for one year from the last citation.
