HELP! Is my mom too strict?

My mom doesnt want me to be in danger at all and just wants me to go anywhere or do anything with anyone, because they're "bad people". She doesnt want me to meet new people and if i do with my friends she always says a comment like"oh they're probably low lifes". She doesnt let me go out at night or lets me go to parties with my friends. Is she being toooo strict?

Your age what ever it is should be considered. The type of people you are hanging with is also a consideration and the places that you go. Mom is only looking out for you and doing so becuase she truly cares about you and your well being. Be glad she cares that much. If you are young, be patient as well as selective about the people you hang with and the places you want to go. That might help.

Nope, not at all... especially now a days..... you kids think it's so cool to meet random strangers off the internet and that's just dumb... you are almost 100% likely to get raped, murdered or knocked up... there is no reason you guys have to meet dudes from the internet... bad news... you also didn't tell us your age, but if you aren't allowed to go out at night you must be very young.. cos lots of mom's usually let you go out till like at least 9 or 10 once you can drive... my mom was strict and still let me out till midnight or 1 on the weekends and 10 during the school week.

Your mom has been there, done that and she's just looking out for you.  You won't think so now but in a few more years when you're an adult you'll realize she was RIGHT.  (Actually, you may not realize it until you're like 30 but I can't stress it enough....she KNOWS what she's talking about!)

sometimes its best if mom is strict. i know you dont believe it, but shes only looking out for your best interest. when i was growing up, my mom pretty much gave me complete freedom when i was 16...that means going out and staying out until 4 in the morning, sometimes later. even though she let me have freedom, she always gave me her input on my friends, and let me tell ya.... she was always right [esp when it came to the "bad people"] - even if she didnt know them!

Some parents are like that's and my mom was never like that's but my step dad was the best thing for you to do is sit down with her and tell her "look mom I'm a teenager and i want to do what teenagers do and i think that you can trust me enough to know i will do the right thing and if i ever get into a place i cant get out of you know i will call you"

of course you mom will say there bad people and low life's but that's her way of saying she doesn't want you hanging out with them she probably does not know your friends like you do..
