what is the distance from the center of a cube to the vertices?

  1. Let the cube be situated on the origin, so that x,x,x is the point furthest from the origin.

    Using the Pythagorean theorem, twice, the distance from the origin is

    d^2 =defined= x^2 + x^2 + x^2 = 3x^2

    The distance from center of the cube to one of the vertices will be 1/2 of d:

    d/2 = x sqr[3]/2

    This stuff is important in solid state physics
