I moved from Los Angeles to New York about 4 years ago and every time I go home I need my fix of menudo. I haven't been home in awhile and now I'm dying without my authentic homemade meal.

Does anyone know where I can find GOOD menudo in Manhattan, Staten Island, Brooklyn, Bronx?

Please! and Thank you!!!!

  1. Here is a link that I found for a place in Brooklyn, Williamsburg area.  They make Menudo soup.  The second link if in New Rochelle which would be a nice drive.  Not that far from NYC.

I also found this article for purchasing it in cans.

"Today, Juanita’s Foods is the world’s largest manufacturers of prepared, “canned Menudo.” Juanita’s also offers Chicken and Pork Pozole, Meatball Soup, Mexican-Style Hominy, Hot and Mild Sauces, Traditional Beef and Vegetable and Traditional Chicken and Vegetable Soups, Traditional Beef Chile Colorado and Pork Chile Verde stews. All of this very authentic, ready-to-eat Mexican food delicacies are being sold under the Juanita’s Foods and Pico Pica brands. Now a third generation family-run business, it is their on-going commitment to innovation, authenticity and quality that has allowed Juanita’s Foods to become a leader in the Mexican food category"  I'm sure you can find it in a food store in NYC or the suburbs.

  2. There's a taco truck (yes truck) in Williamsburg off the Bedford L stop that I had tripe menudo soup from once.  But it is there sporadically and the menu is always changing.  I have no idea if it is considered "good" - since it is very hard to find good authentic mexican food in NYC.  I moved from LA when i was 10, and haven't been able to find anything in NYC to compare to what I had back in the good old days.
