    A - James II, king of England in 1685, was trying to reorganize the colonies in America, so he created the Dominion of New England which included New Hampshire, Massachuetts, Plymouth, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.  The re-organization didn't "stick" because he was ousted as King by Parliament in 1688.

    A- Puritans in Massachusetts thought they were better than anyone else and so their colony in Massachusetts was said to provide England with an example of how government should function.

    A- The principle behind mercantilism is that there is a limited amount of wealth in the world so control of it must be centralized within a realm.  Imports from other countries are minimized and free trade (as we understand it i the 21st century) would not exist.  Colonies are established to bring under control of the central authority the sources of raw materials that otherwise would have to be imported.
