And you're not going to escape from my sight

but oh well let's fight!

I just made that made that up lol!

But some poems goes like this:

I love you so much

that i want you with me forever and ever

I love you a bunch

That you make me shiver

Notice the difference???!!!!

Well is a poem suppose to be like the first poem or the second poem??? help me please i need to do a poem for my english homework! thanks!

  1. Both are acceptable, I prefer Free Form to Rhyme but I have written both. There are many types of poetry styles to choose. Many require practice and training to be effective writing that style.I believe, poetry is an expression of your emotions, thoughts, dreams, experiences, basically, any subject you have an interest. The only one you have to impress with your poetry is you. It is your interpretation, if you like what you have written, no matter what you write, someone will love it!

  2. There is no disparity, for they rhymes respectively.Literally none.A poem does not need to be rhymed,as long as it shows explicitly of your feelings.

  3. Ours is the night

    night with our light

    a special light

    that shines bright

    .................................

    Night... a special time

    our time... we caress

    dawn may call soon enough

but we will savor, ever moment

There is two examples of poetic lines in stanza form.  One rhymed, the other free verse.  Penning love poems is hard since first there are so many and second it is easy to get cliched while doing, e.g. (I love you so much.)  A poem has images, a rhythm, and some type of structure wrapped around deeper thoughts or even multiple thoughts, waiting to be discovered. Think about the phrase: "Have you ever tasted the dew of a fresh cut rose?"  In a poem, that carries much symbolism as well the rose is a metaphor often.  Both your submittals are "poems" but they need help to really shine. Dig deep and edit, the words will speak well then.

  4. a poem is a mirror of yourself. It does not have to be a perfect piece. the second does not necessarily have to be similar to the previous. just go with the flow. good luck on your homework!

  5. It can be like either, it doesnt matter if it rhyms or not
