HELP ME WIF INTERNeTs?

ok, this is weird, after this storm cut the power off and a spark happened somewhere...the power came back on and now i cant get in the internet with my desktop, xbox, or other desktop(there all hardwired to my router)

BUT! i can get on the internet with my laptop(wireless) i tried all 3 cords in my desktop didnt work, i called bellsouth which is my isp and the told me it was my NIC but i dont get that cuz all my hardwired gadgets dont connect, only the wireless it keeps saying that the ethernet is not hooked up but it is, i tried 3 seperate ones to make sure.....

Does anybody have any suggestions?

Have you tried hooking up your laptop thru a wired connection? If you did can it connect to the net? If so it sounds like power got thru the wired connections to the NICs. You could go by a NIC and put it in your wired computer to see if that is your problem, they are pretty cheap. You might even go to an independent computer repair shop and see if they have a used one they know works and will sell you cheap. That would would at least confirm whether or not it is a NIC problem. If you still can't connect it sounds as though power just affected part of your router! Got a good buddy that let you borrow his router or take something to his house and hook it up hardwired to see if it works.

Was your computer hooked up to a surge protector? If not, the NIC cards could have been destroyed by a power surge when the storm occurred.
