We're not really sure what happened but my 2 daughters had been coloring and one fell on the floor. They didn't know so they left the room. We came in and the crayon looked like it was chewed and something. Will crayon hurt cats?! Thanks!

  1. Crayons are made of wax. If it was only chewed on and none actually missing (meaning eaten) your cat should be fine. I'm sure it got a taste of it and discovered it tasted nasty so didn't finish it off.  lol Children's coloring products are non-toxic (legally required to be) because kids like to taste stuff too.

  2. No, I looked it up and couldn't find anything about it. If it eats the whole thing, then yeah, maybe. Just make sure it doesn't get into anything like that! Here are some things that are, though:

    Alcoholic beverages

Apples and Apricots (stems, seeds and leaves)

    Avocados

    Baby food containing onion

    Baking Powder and Baking Soda

Bones from fish, poultry or other meats

    Cherries

Chocolate, Coffee, Tea and other caffeine

    Citrus oil extracts

    Dog food in large amounts

    Eggplant (greens)

    Elderberry

    Fatty foods

    Grapes and Raisins

    Liver in large amounts

    Macadamia Nuts

Milk and other dairy products (many cats are lactose intolerant)

    Mushrooms

    Nutmeg

    Onions and Garlic

Peaches and Plums (stems, seeds and leaves)

    Potato

    Rhubarb (leaves)

    Raw eggs

    Raw fish

    Salt in large quantities

    Sugary foods

    Tobacco

    Tomato (greens)

    Yeast dough

  3. i don't think it could hurt the cat bt just to be safe call a vet or make an appointment

  4. I think your cat should be fine, crayons are made of wax and not harmful to a cat.

But just to be on the safe side, call a vet and see what he/she has to say.

  5. Your cat will be fine. Crayons are just wax. Your kids can eat em too.

  6. It's ok they will be fine.Cats are pretty smart don't worry about it. but if your cat starts acting weird take the cat to the vet that can be taken care of easily.

    Good luck

  7. does the crayon box say non-toxic? if they are children's crayons then they should be safe, if not advisable to ingest. To be safe, you might want to call your vet or make an appointment but i think your cat will be okay. if he/she start to throw up or has diarrhea take him/her to the veterinarian immediately. here's a (long) list of things that are poisonous to cats. it says that pastels (art crayons) are but it doesn't mention Crayola. http://www.bo-kitty.com/Hazards.html

  8. i don't believe so!  and it probably non-toxic!  if any strange behavior go to the vet cause there might be a allergic reaction!

  9. juz check if da crayon is toxic or non toxic.even if its non toxic take her to a doctor.then shell b fine

  10. i scoured the first two pages of google and nada no evidence to suggest they are harmful
