  1. Go on Brides.com. That will help you get orginized. With only 34 ppl and 3-4 thousand dollars, you should be able to have a wonderful night.

  2. i found out that the signature inn rents out their small rooms for 15.00 an hour. If you have that hotel chain near  you I would check in to that. Other wise look into a vfw or an american legion. What town is the wedding in that would be helpful to get some response also.

  3. Where do you live?

  4. Don't panic. You have plenty of time to set up a wedding. There are many options you have other than getting married in a church.

To save money you can combine your wedding location with your reception. Great places to get married are golf resorts, parks, old heritage homes, party boats and so forth.

What really helped me was this book, Intimate Weddings: Planning a Small Wedding that Fits Your Budget and Style  on amazon. Here is the link. http://www.amazon.com/Intimate-Weddings-...

Other ways to save cost is to purchase all your decorations, floral arrangements at Michaels during their sales and decorated everything yourself.

Purchased box cameras for the guests and only have a select few professional pictures done prior to the wedding by a waterfall or in a botanical garden.

    I hope this helps.

  5. Firstly believe it or not 3 to 4 grand is quite sufficient for a wedding especially for 34 guests.  You can get married in a church mind, i myself am not baptized & im marrying in a church next may, but i think im gonna get christened privately just before the wedding without any fuss or ado.  So it can happen if that's what you really want.  Apart from that there are so many places nowadays that are licensed to hold weddings and receptions that you got a full range of venues, from the popular hotels, inns or restaurants to the extravagance of castles, gardens, halls or you can go for the extremeness of a unique venue such as a sports arena, swimming pool, airbourne, vip club room, or the millenium stadium in Cardiff, Wales.

Because you have the fortunate luxury of only 34 guests id say on your budget you have a mighty good range of choices.  The advantage of having your wedding at a licensed venue is  you can also have your reception there too saving a lot of money.  Also if you wanna save money try looking for last minute cancellation bookings on venues which attract you.

Otherwise, just go for the popular hotel choice which im currently planning for in May'09 and it's only costing me 150pounds for roomhire, 100 dj hire, 200 catering, 100 beverages, 100 decorations & say 100 misc.  so you got plenty leftover for all other aspects of your wedding.

  6. Find a hall or maybe do it at someone's house. I know its in winter so you can't really do it outside.

  7. Take a deep breath.

Plan on having the ceremony & reception in the same place; it'll save loads.

All you need is a focal point for the ceremony; an arch or a couple of pillars with vases of flowers.

This is how you go about finding someone to come to you.

Type into your search engine this--your

    citystateweddingofficiant

There will be ones in your area to come up. If you go to the bridal sites, visit the officiant's web site. Those bridal sites (wedplan, knot,) make vendors & officiants pay for your contact info & some just can't/won't do it.

Also you can contact AAWO--they have ALL kinds of officiants from Rabbis to Humanisits to Pagan Priestesses.

I am a nondenominational minister therefore I am free to perform non-religious ceremonies as I'm not bound by any particular creed or dogma.

Now, as far as venues, there are hotel, yacht, winery, banquet hall, house, park, farm.

But what I suggest is that you call your area Lodges like the Eagles or Moose.  They  usually have really good facilities for such things at a decent price & you don't have to be a member.  One of the Eagle's here even has a separate building with a dance floor & kitchen so that is doesn't interfere with lodge activities & rents for less than $400.

  8. With that small amount of people you could probably rent out a nice room in a restaurant for a lot less than renting a banquet hall.  A restaurant might not even charge for the room, just the food and drink.

My sister is having her wedding with 40 people at a really nice restaurant next month, and they are only paying about $4,000-5,000 for that (and it's a REALLY nice restaurant, so it's a bit more expensive than average). They only start planning in February, so I think you can definitely do it!

    Good Luck!

  9. what about a resturant private party room? my friend had her engagement party in a italian resturant. with only 34 guests it shouldnt cost alot. ya could have a reverend marry you in a scenic location.good luck best wishes!
