  1. E=60+40x  x being the number of hours she worked. E is how much she earns.

    there fore if she workes 3.45 hours it would be

    E=60+40*3.45

    E=$198

  2. Let's use:

    a= number of hours

    b= the bill

    That gives us:

    40a+60= b

    which is:

    (40x3.45)+60= 198

    so: $198.00

  3. $60 + $40(T) = Total bill

    T= 3.45

    Do the math

  4. Let:

    h = number of hours worked.

    p = price of service call

    p = 40h + 60

    If she works 3.45 hours:

    p = 40(3.45) + 60

    p = 138 + 60

    p = 198

    The service call would cost $198.

  5. Let p equal Julia's total pay, h equal the number of hours she works, & c be the cost of a service call.

    p=40h+c

    Substitute the values you know in the equation.

    p=40(3.45) +60

    Solve.

    p=138 + 60

    p=198

    Julia earned $198.00 in total.
