Question

There are 7 girls in a bus

Each girl has 7 backpacks

In each backpack, there are 7 big cats

For every big cat there are 7 little cats

Question: How many legs are there in the bus?

7x7x7x7x4 = 9604 legs

BIG CAT'S LEGS

7x7x7x4 = 1372 legs

GIRL'S LEGS

7x2 = 14 legs

TOTAL LEGS = 10990 legs

ok heres my explaination.

there are 7 girls on a bus, but there is also a bus driver making this 8 people times 2 legs so therefore there are 16 legs. then we have 7 girls times seven bags so thats 49 bags. 49 bags times 7 big cats so thats 343 cats, times 4 legs is 1372 times 7 cats equals 9604 cat legs plus 16 so then you have 9620! Now add the 1372 and you get 10996 and that is a ton of legs!

This riddle is ridiculous.  It's posted all the time, and no one accepts the correct answer.

7 girls = 14 girl legs

7 girls * 7 backpacks * 7 big cats * 4 legs/big cat = 1372 big cat legs

7 girls * 7 backpacks * 7 big cats * 7 little cats * 4 legs/little cat = 9604 little cat legs

That's a total of 14 + 1372 + 9604 = 10,990 legs

There's no mention of a bus driver, a security guard, three-legged cats, one-legged girls or anything else.  It is what it is.  10,990 is THE answer.  If anyone tells you differently, they're full of it.
