  1. I bought this camera new at a discount store, and have spent the last several months having some fun with it.

The company is Oregon Scientific, and is well known for making weather-related electronics (weather radios, weather stations, etc). Although they are still in business, the only digital cameras they still make are the helmet-mount tube cameras for sports.  Their credit-card cameras (when they were still being made) had a flat glass lens, and actually took acceptable photos as long as there was ample light. Mine also came with a removable flash, cables, and software. As long as you keep in mind that it's good for taking non-critical fun photos at parties, or for going into messy places that you would NOT want to take a good or bulky camera, then you won't be disappointed.

They can still be found in a few places for $20 - $30 US, but probably not worth the effort it would take to find them.

  2. I don't know how much it's worth, nor I've ever seen it, but I can guarantee that it has a horrible feedback.

    How do I know?

It's all in the name. There are three things about it that bother me.

    1. OREGON - never heard of it. The really good cameras are usually made by camera manufacturers. Nikon, Canon, Pentax, Olympus, etc.... Mediocre camera are made by other big companies that have cameras as their side business: Samsung, Casio, HP, Kodak, Sony..... The rest - most probably not worth it.

    2. Credit Card Size - a good camera features good optics. Good optics (lens) has to have some size and weight to it. It's simply impossible to create high quality lens that would fit a credit card size camera. Also a tiny sensor means lots of noise....

    3. VGA. That's 640x480. Or in other words  0.3 megapixel. If you read Y! answers a bit you will find that many top answerers, me included, state often that megapixels are not important. True, but not here. 0.3 is way too small for anything useful. Just on screen viewing. If you want to print it - 2x3 inches is probably the biggest size you can go and keep at least something that looks like quality. That's about a passport size photo (2x2 is official passport size).

So, if you want it as a fun toy to play around - it is probably worth about $20. At least I wouldn't buy it for more than that. But don't expect to take anything serious with it. Not even for family album.....

    LEM.
