HELP MEEEEEE! Poem trouble?

Help me get some ideas to write a poem with the same style as the red hot chili peppers w/out pledjurising?

I like RHCP's style of music and sublimes and I have to write a poem for school I'm not going to make it bad or anything but last year ppl did there's to express themselves. I'm NOT intending to pledgiarise I just want to immitate the style they have. My poem does not have to be about nature and stuff like Edgar Allen Poe or anything you can express yourself and music is a form or poetry. I was listening to dani california and I like the rhythm they have and how it's kind of funky. I want some ideas on how I can immitate rock music in my poem. I like RHCP (obviously you know that duh), Sublime, and Nirvana. I'm not nervy enough to immitate Nirvana, don't worry. I'm not copying off of them I'm just getting an inspiration from their music style. How do I start?

There is a lot of similarities between rock lyrics and great poems from Edgar Allen Poe, but there's a HUGE difference too.  Rock music differs greatly from traditional poetry because of the additional sound effects or background instrumental music.

Write a poem expressing yourself and make it either a bit "sarcastic" or in "your face" type deal.
