  1. Check to see if there is anything he could have cut it on in the cage, If you have another hamster, they may have fought. If all of this is N/A, just CALL a vet to see what they think.

  2. If you have another hamster, they could've had a fight.

He could have hit himself somewhere. Keep and eye on your hamster. If it bleeds again, call a vet and ask if it could be a disease, or something like that.

  3. Oh, good. I'm glad your hamster is better.

However, you may want to take out the hay thing and sand it down with sandpaper (to prevent it from happening again) before you give it back to her.

  4. it's fine, really. all rodents do that, sometimes every day. but if you ever see him when it happens, you'll notice hardly anyy blood comes out. it's just from they're nails, and they know how to take care of them selves when that happens. it's really not bad, and he'll be fine. if he ever does it again, just hold him, try to comfort him. any mayb even get a wet rag, and very, very softly whipe his nose. never, NEVER keep it under his nose for more then a second though. they don'tt know how to breath out of they're mouths, so they're nose is the only way.

  5. His nose is bloody because he is dehydrated he needs water and it would be ok to give him a little neosporn on the nose it will help heal it and the moisture in it will also ok as a lotion type substance

  6. 12 DAYS?!?!? ur suppose to change the water everyday and food 4-5 days! the poor thing probobly scratched its wittle nose the the cage.  take it to the vet!

  7. Bloody nose with rodents is not blood, it is their mucus. Rodents have blood coloured mucus and it is likely just allergies.

  8. Bloody nose can signify a lot of things. It could be something as simple as the hamster scratching the nose while grooming his face and his long nails could have dug a bit deep into the fur causing the bleed. In this case it is an external thing and would be cleaned off in one second and after that the bleeding would not get repeated.

If the blood flow is copious or lots, then it could be that the hamster fell down and hit his head or face somewhere.

If the blood flow does not stop but keeps coming regularly every day, then it could signify a major problem like a tumour, then in that case you would have to take him to a vet.

In all probability, I would think it is the first guess only, so relax but keep a watchout for another recurrence, and if ir recurs, then you have to rush him to a vet.

If you are suspicious that that chewing thing is causing this problem, remove it for a few days and observe him. If he is fine, perhaps that was the reason. Then you can substitute his chew toy with something else like empty toilet roll tubes or hard dog biscuits.
