  1. DON'T TEAR THE SKIN OFF. That is a last resort. My advice is just mist the moss with the lizard in there. I have a moist hide in my terrarium but my Leo never uses it, I wind up giving it a bath. So if you don't want to spray the water, wait until tomorrow if there is any retained shed then fill your sink slightly w/ luke warm water and let it bathe for 30 minutes.

You may also want to wet a Q-tip and rub any retained shed on the toes of the lizard.

If you pull the skin off by yourself there is a fair chance that you will pull actual scales off.

I'm happy that your so concerned it seems like you have actually done your research. ;)

  2. Do NOT tear the skin off..that is extremely painful for them!!!  Just mist her and then mist the moss later if she moves off it.  Try not to handle her too much while she's shedding.  It's just like a human having a sunburn..their skin is very sore and sensitive while shedding.

  3. No just mist her so she can shed easier. Its no big deal. Once she moves off her moss you can mist it some more. Or put her in her bowl.

  4. yeah what he said

  5. whenever my geckos molts, i reach right in and tear the skin off em. i had humidity problems, and they would never molt their toes properly, unless i helped them.

they seem to hate it, and they wont eat the skin after, so they loose out on whatever nutrients, but... anyways, i'm not saying that you should do that, i'm jsut saying it takes a lot ot actually hurt the animals. if you really want to mist it,

in nature, a rainstorm won't stop just cause the gecko is molting.
