what sort of poem is this ?

In my head I hear a humming,

Summer, summer summer's coming,

Soon we're going on vacation,

But there is a complication,

Day by day the problem's growing,

We don't know yet where we're going,

Mother likes the country best,

That's so she can read and rest,

Dad thinks resting is a bore,

He's for fishing at the shore,

Sister says swimming is cool,

Swimming in the swimming pool,

I don't care,

I'd be happy anywhere

as in.. like.. ballad, ode, sonnet.. etc

  1. Except that your poem is made of 14 lines, it in no ways is a sonnet. An ode is addressed to somebody and is normally of some length. So it is not an Ode either. And by no means it  is a ballad.

However what is important is that a poet makes an effort to genuinely see. he sees and observes things which the normal eye misses. His emotions are raised by this observation and lyricism is a part of his elevated emotions.

So what is important is that yousee and observe and write even in prose, without bothering about the style , the rhythm, the form, the rhyme and simply say wha you truly feel in your heart.

You have made a good effort indeed in rhymes but you have not made any effort in feeling and then writing . At he  moment , I am afraid it reads just like some alliteration by a child in fancy without actually an effort for the thing itself.

However , i am going to details , because I feel , you are truly making effort, but without a true direction. I am sure you will succeed in your next attempt !

Good Luck ! Alleviate and dig deeper within yourself to see the unity of Nature with you.
