Hi everyone!

I really need some help on leveling are backyard ground for an 18' Diameter Above Ground Pool.

Our yard is a 6th of an acre and slightly slanted.(Not very much though)

But it is enough of a slant to hurt a pool.

Last time we put an above ground pool like this one water built up on one side and started to empty out.

Any Advice would be appreciated!

Thanks!

  1. OK MIcah, here's how to do it. Drive a stake in the ground at the point where the centre of the pool will be, and to the level of the top of the pool.  Measure 9ft either side of this measuring from the centre of the installed stake. OK so far? we will call this measurement N & S, do exactly the same for the second measurement E & W. At each point of the compass drive a stake in the precise position (ie 9ft from centre) Now, get yourself a good straight plank of wood, to use as a straight edge, and long enough to reach from the centre stake to the outer ones. Sit the "straight-edge on the centre stake and transfer the level to each of the compass points. Mark each level on each stake with a pencil line. You must bed the pool on Soft/builders sand

  2. Get your centre point, put a stake there and the use a long 2 by 4 with a level.  Start froom the centre and then go aroung the area.  Alot of work, but well worth it in the end.  Good luck.

  3. Pools are expensive to take care of and increase your insurance. They are all a big negative for property values. Nothing says "down scale" more than an above ground pool.

  4. that happend with us too. what we did was we put sand on the ground and moved it around 'til it was level so insted of more water on one side we have more depth of sand under our pool.

but if you do that make sure the pool doesnt splash out too much because all that water will erode it. but the rain doesnt so dont worry about that... there isnt enough water to erode it.

  5. Go to lowes and pick up alot of playsand and level it out

  6. My aunt's backyard was very slanted, but she wanted a pool about 2 years ago.

She ordered sand and got it leveled. She put the sand only in the area where the pool was and it is fine.

She orders a little bit more sand every year and it is fine.
