HELP PLEASE! Has anybody here worked for or written an article for a well known newspaper?

Ive just finished my first year at uni and i would like to pursue a career in journalism..im just trying to sort out my CV so that I can apply for work experience opportunities with well known newspapers..does anybody have any idea what i should include to make myself stand out, i was gutted when i got rejected by the Guardian =( this is really important to me so i would appreciate all the advice i can get, thanks in advance =)

  1. Make yourself aware of a newspaper's writing style.  The words they use and so on.

    Apply at a small paper.  You are not going to be hired by Time magazine.  You will have to earn a job there by being outstanding somewhere small.

    Be willing to move out of state.

    they totally patronised me and misquoted me

    they will print whatever they like
