HELP PLEASE! How do i convince my mom to buy me clothes for back to school?

I am going to be a freshman this year in high school and my mom nor' my dad want to give me money to go shopping for back to school.& this really hurts me because i am going to be entering a new school and i want to make a good first impression. My dad is so messed up he gives money to my cousins so they can go shopping and he never gives me anything. I was saving up money for back to school but then my mom's birthday came up and i gave her the $40 i had saved up as a birthday gift. And now i am just stuck because i have nothing ans school starts in 4 weeks. and i can't help around the neighborhord becuz they jus arent like that. help please how do i convince them! THEY DO HAVE THE MONEY.

Tell your mom you want to go back to school shopping and make a deal saying when you get back you will give away the same number of clothes that you bought so you dont clutter your closet! THis will give you a chance to get rid of stuff you dont like or that doesnt fit! I have done this alot before!!!!!!!

Well, why won't they give you money?  You didn't give us a reason why.  I know if I had a spoiled rotten brat for a kid, I wouldn't give them any money for back to school.  Also, if I had a disobidient kid, I'd say he or she wuoldn't deserve anything.  If neither of these are the case, then maybe you need to tell them that if they don't want to take care of their own child, they should have never had one to begin with.  Are you really that hard up for clothes?  Maybe they don't want to give you money because you already have more than enough clothes...like so many girls do.  I can't really see them not wanting to help you out for school without a good reason....unless it's just a reason you don't like.

Start doing chores, cleaning house, and don't stop.

Its not about guilting your parents or being rewarded. Its subconscious. We learn about this is psychology. Your subconscious brain takes cues from your environment changes the way your conscious brain thinks.

Ever heard of "dress for success" it works.  This is the same thing. When your mom looks around and sees her nice clean house, that will put her in the spending mood. There is a hierarchy of activities in our minds, and cleaning, naturally comes before buying more stuff to fill the space. When the cleaning is done, your mom's brain will move on to spending $$$.

Keep everything spotless for a couple of days, this will work, its psychology. Good luck!

Try convincing her buy suggesting going to cheap stores in malls. For example, If there is like a TJ Maxx or a KMart in a mall near you, suggest going there and walk past the stores you wanna shop from.

As you pass buy admire the clothes in the window and mention them to your mom. Make deals such as budget deals. Say- I wont spend over 200 $ here and you could help me pick out the clothes.

Well first off...im confused why your dad would give your cousins money and not you! you need to show him how much you are confused and hurt by that. Sometimes giving shows love...and his actions hurt you. Whenever i need to show my parents how serious i am about something, i write a letter. Be really honest and sincere in your letter. Start off saying how first impressions are everything, and clothes are a huge part of a girl's life. They let you express yourself and portray who you are to your peers and teachers. You need to let your parents know that you don't just want to go on a shopping spree, you need some money so that you can make a good first impression, fit in, and make new friends. Since you probably go to a public school, all the girls will really care about what you wear.  If i saw a girl wearing old, ugly clothes i would think she was weird and a loser (sorry but i automatically think this...maybe im shallow but tons of girls are). tell your parents how much you really need this. and then tell your dad that it hurts you to see him giving to your cousins but not you, it makes it seem like he loves them more than you.  Tell your parents that you will buy on sale--but still good quality clothing (so that it will last long) to show them that you're not just trying to burn cash.  You can also tell them that you will help out around the house more.  Make sure to write all of this in a letter so that you cannot be interrupted, and so they know how much this means to you.  I hope i answered your question! good luck!!

Ask your mom how you can earn the money around the house.  Or ask if you can have a clothing allowance and therefore search for the best deals.  When is your birthday?  Ask for gift cards so you can shop for clothes then.

ooh thats a tuff one i usely go to my aunts for clothes but my mom just started paying attention to me so she just baught me an outfit it may not be much but its a start but for u let me think tell them its not fare because thats pretty srewed up that ur dad would give ur cuz money but not u use that its a guilt trip i think that would work tell me how it goes atleast ask them for 50$ u could get like 3 shirts and a few shorts if u go the right places try ross or oldnavy my favorite store is aeropostale but they r pretty expensive!!
