Okay, the bus won't stop in front of my house, but I have to walk a small distance to a stop sign at the corner (which can be seen from our house!) and I have to be there at 6:37am, and my parents want to walk me. That would be sooo embarrassing!!! PLEASE help me come up with a way to make them change their mind, and know that I will be safe.

Thanks! 10 pts to best answer

  1. oh god. tell them your a big girl and they should just watch you from your house.

  2. thats is embarressing. I started being able to walk to my bus stop when I was 9 almost 10. Explain that you're way to old to have someone walking you to the corner. Tell them that that would be very humiliating and if they don't understand scream and run away

  3. just tell them that you are old enough to walk by yourself and u can defend yourself if anything goes wrong.

  4. Tell them to buy you a gun. lol. or hire a body guard.

  5. tell them if they want

they can watch u walk there

and there are a ton of people so its totally safe

and tht NO ONE is their with the 'rentz

    =)hope i helped

    and gooood luck

  6. Your parents care about you and your well being, love.

I know it is totally embarrassing but they have good intentions.  The world is pretty messed up and they would never forgive themselves if something happened to you on that walk.  They think by them being right there beside you they can help protect you and control the situation.

Tell them how you feel.  Maybe the compromise could be them watching you from your house or maybe you can enlist a friend to be there waiting for you.

  7. Oh, I know how you feel but with all the predators out there in the world, they just love you and want to make sure you get on that bus okay. How about them driving the car near the bus stop and as oon as you see the bus coming, you can get out. That way they can watch you get on the bus and know you are safe. You can always tell your bus friends that you are too lazy to wait outside. You like air conditioning when it is warm and heat when it is cold. You also like to take a nap until the bus arrives. Be sure to smile. They will think you are just sooooo spoiled.

  8. What if you stay on the phone with one of them until you get to the stop? You could make it sound to anyone listening that you were talking to a friend. I do that for my own safety sometimes. Like if I'm at the mall at night by myself and don't want to walk to the car by myself, I'll call a friend and make sure they can stay on the phone until I'm safely in my car.

If that argument doesn't work, do what everyone else says and sit down with your parents and tell them how capable of just walking down the street you are.

    Good luck!

  9. well are there gonna be other kids? if there are tell them theres gonna be other kids, its not like theyre just gonna let something happen to you.

i have the same thing though, like my parents dont walk me, but sometimes i tell my dad to walk with me cause its still dark outside so i get scared, and i dont get embarrassed cause im like the second on the bus and the first person is my friend, and im a sophmore, lol.

  10. Maybe you should just talk to them and say you know you will be safe, You could tell them that you will txt them when you get on the bus so they know you are safe. If they really insist on coming maybe they could come just the first time to make sure everything is sweet. Parents are over protective like that just because they love you and they don't want to risk anything happening to you. You should be fine but yeah i know, its annoying. Good luck!
