I have just received my provisional licence back from dvla for category LGV C, PSV D.

I have a friend who owns a class 2 vehicle he uses for his own firm, he said he would give me a lesson or two, what sort of insurance cost am i looking at? would it be best to have my own or my mate put me on his insurance? and where would you recommend to go for the best quote.

  1. First thing is to talk to your mate,,he already might have insurance that would cover you for his truck,,so just ask him first,,secondly just enjoy learning to drive the truck,,you can already drive a car and a class 2 is just like a big car,,I have been driving class 1's for 25 years and I still get a thrill out of driving such a big vehicle,,may all that you wish for come true.

Who knows your mate might even give you your first HGV driving job. Good Luck

  2. i would save the money and go with a regestered instructor

  3. super sock that hoe

  4. Get yourself an instructor, insurance doesn't come cheap even if your a qualified driver, my son has just had to pay nearly £2,000 - that would buy a lot of lessons wouldn't it ? AND an instructor will give you better instruction than your mate who probably like me has Lot's of bad habits that we would probably be failed for if tested.
