Ok my Iguana iggy is in his cage and he is not opening his eyes and his color is fading. He is on his wooden stick thing and keeps falling over like he is dying but whenever i pour water on him he starts to slowly come up but then back down. He is breathing very lightly and it almost looks like he is not breathing at all!

I dont know what to do or if he id dying or not. He is about 3 years old and is about 2 feet long including his tail. We cant touch him because he bits and whips and it is 11 O' clock.

He hasnt moved from this spot in a day. We fed him and give tons of water but he keeps sluging.

  1. I think my iguana is dying. I believe he has gotten a kidney disease. I noticed that he looked like he was having trouble breathing, looked like he was choking, and gasping for air. I took him to the vet, and she ruled out a respiratory infection. She showed me the x-rays so I could see what was going on. She sent me home with some antibiotics. Now, his tongue is swollen and he can't eat. I keep trying to force feed him collards and some of them do get down him. He hasn't had a bowel movement in about 4 or 5 days. He has had the mucousy, and white looking defecation and that is all. Today, he did a large amount of it. He is so weak and lethargic. We made the mistake of feeding him table food. But, we also fed him green leafy vegetables and fruits. His lighting was not that good lots of times. He would jump off his aquarium and hide all day. This would result in him not being in the light that he needed. I do not understand why the vet could not see that he could of had metabolic bone disease, or kidney disease. Now he is so lifeless and I know that he is going to die. The vet said that he was four years and seven months. What do I do? I cannot afford another vet bill.
