HELP PLEASE! finding a reputable agent?

ok so im moving to denver to start school, and a director from community theatre that im involved in is telling me to get an agent. i ust got done being a lead in a musical and its my third show. how can i find a good agent that won't scam me. im wanting to go to broadway, but i know how much work is ahead of me, and i can't wait for it. i've had training and will continue it at school before i try to transfer to a school with a better musical theatre program. so please give me some good information im very serious about this

and i definately want to do theatre, film and tv have just never interested me!

  1. Let's see - you have done THREE WHOLE SHOWS and you are looking fro an agent - just because somebody said so???  You are SO FAR from being prepared!  An agent only gets PAID if you WORK - and nobody is going to hire you  - YET!  Finish your education - including a college degree in theater - and then ask this question again.


  2. Don't rush it.

    Check with those who have agents. Look in the trade magazines.

    I hope you are anxious, and that "I can't wait" does not mean you will give up quick
