can some one plese explain why the same fossils have been found on different continents even through the climates on the continents are too different to have supported the same life forms

  1. Pangae and Gondawonaland. The continents were all the same at one point.  


  2. Millions of years ago all the continents were merely parts of a supercontinent called Pangea. I'm not completely sure, but at that time the Earth's climate was pretty much the same throughout, warm and humid. Over millions of years, the land shifted apart and the climate changed, and thus the fossils left behind became sorts of proofs that the land had been together at one time.

  3. all the continents used to be one big "super" continent

    plates gradually move away from each other.. so pangae broke up into smaller continents.. which are the ones that we have now

Basically, what your teacher/homework is trying to get you to notice is at one point the continents were once all together forming a giant landmass called Pangea *u might have to check my spelling on that. However, I believe what you ment to state is that NOW the continents have different climates. Back then, they were the same. Now that the continents have different climates and we can piece together fossils shows you that Pangea actually existed at one time.
