I received a letter from NCO Financial Systems regarding paypal recently. It said I owed them over $300. It had my home address but the name it was addressed to someone I have never heard of. I am also absolutely sure that I do not owe any debts to paypal. Could someone of used my address for their paypal account? I am really concerned and I need help. What should I do? Did anyone else have this problem?

  1. If the debt is not in your name, then it is not yours even if it is your ID. Call up this company and tell them you don't know this person and that the person does not live in your house. Don't immediately assume that it is you. With identity theft, the thieves will use your name, address and all other information. This is not even in your name

You did not mention if you logged in to your Paypal account and whether it shows that you indeed owe money

Paypal does not operate that way. You don't owe money to Paypal, because Paypal is too wise for these things -- they either have your bank account or credit card information. When you owe something in Paypal, Paypal collects IMMEDIATELY and either charges your credit card or gets money from your bank account

You may want to check with this further. I highly doubt this is Paypal, especially since it is not your name. If this is indeed Paypal, then they would have your name at least to be correct

  2. If its not in your name dont worry.

  3. paypal rips people off.
