HELP: Resort Club Internacional de Cancun Info?

Hi. I'm currently looking at a few different places in Cancun for mid-July. I was quoted by Resort Club Internacional de Cancun (a part of Royal Resorts) for a villa (2 bedrooms, living room, dining room, full kitchen, and ocean view terrace) for $129 a night.

I'm looking for opinions from ppl who have stayed there....

what did you think of the place?

proximity to stores/grocery stores?

close to transporation?

pool?

cleanliness of room?

etc.....

Thanks in advance!

  1. Club Internacional is the Royal Resort's first Time-Share in Cancun's Hotel Zone. I have not stayed there however I did run into quite a few people who have. When I was at the Royal Sands & Spa last May, I had the opportunity to speak with several people who said that Club Internacional, while an older resort than the Sands, was still their favorite. They mentioned the atmosphere was warmer, with a more personal touch. There are plans to revamp the Club Internacional, and if I am not mistaken, those plans may be coming real soon. What I would suggest is that you contact Royal Resorts on your own, or even some time-share owners to inquire when that work is scheduled to begin. All things considered, I think the quote you got is a very good one for what you can expect from such a fine resort.

  2. I love CIC!!!

It was started by 3-retired Air Force men and is still run by Richard Sutton (one of the originals).

It is a 30-year old property that has been kept up by it's owners. This year however they will be putting in about $8-million in upgrades to bring it up to 2008 standards...wifi, heated pool an additional restaurant.

It is located at the top of the 7 in the hotel zone which faces Isla Mujeres so you can easily swim in the ocean.

Every night you can see the Pirate ship going out...

It is a 5-star (a real 5-star), extremely clean, most of the workers have worked there for 30-years. It isn't a luxury hotel...but the highest end of great. The gardens are incredible and there are huge iguanas that live there which you can feed red hibiscus flowers.

It has its own grocery store but if you need more WalMart is just a bus ride away (R2).

You can also use  the Royal's free shuttle to their other properties. The Royal Sands has an incredible view from their lobby and a nice grocery store.

  3. If you have questions about the real Cancun call 1-888-862-3806 for help booking rooms and all.

They will give you ideas for fun too like:

Definately the Swim with Dolphins, this is fantastic especially if you go to Dolphin Discovery on Isla Mujeres, as you have a 40 minute boat ride there and back with open bar and entertainment.

The Captain Hook Pirate ships are another fun thing to try.

A Jungle tour through the mangroves, with snorkelling over the Coral reefs.

If you´re into diving, then Call Ben Mooney at http://www.mayanaquadive.com as he knows some great dive sites.

Xcaret is a wonderful day out, as you get to enjoy an ecopark, with dolphins, turtles ect and then get to watch probably the best show in the whole of Mexico at night.

A catamaran trip with http://www.cancuncatamarans.com is a must, a day sailing and snorkeling, with buffet lunch on Isla Mujeres, open bar, a shopping trip and the chance to have your picture taken holding a live shark.

At night, try the Cancun Party Hopper, there are now 2 different versions going to different bars, and they are great fun.

    Car rental at http://www.cancuncar.com

    Hope this helps.
