The top row of the red seats behind home plate at Cincinnati's Riverfront Stadium is 90 ft. above the level of the playing field. The angle of depression to the base of the left field wall is 14 degrees. How far is the base of the left field wall from a point on level ground directly below the top row?

  1. Well I'm dumb lol angle of depression is 14 degrees, but the angle is actually 76.  The guy above me knows what he's talking about.

  2. your triangle has a height of 90, and the angle between the hypotenuse and the height is 90-14=76

    so, to find the length along the ground comes from:

    tan 76 = length/90

    length =90 tan 76=361 ft
