  1. A betta needs a minimum of a 5 gallon tank with a filter and a heater to live properly.  Those tiny bowls mean you have a miserable fish for a few months and then it dies.

  2. I agree with "Monkey41"  Tank should be no smaller than 5-6

gallon with light and filter and airater..

www.bettafish.com ( or many other betta web sites)

I would not recommend putting any small fish in tank with your

Betta.   I had a Betta for 2 months and went and bought 4 neon tetra  from   a fish store (not Petco or same)

In less than 6 days, all were dead even my Betta. My Betta was a gift from a great friend and I am sooo upset.

    Good luck with yours.

  3. Buy a big big glass vase(at Michael's craft store). then find a Philodendron plant http://moonlitgarden.files.wordpress.com...

then add some subscrate(pebbles, marbles, gravel) and stick'em all together! here look at this http://www.essortment.com/all/betafishva...

  4. He needs a tank 1 gallon or larger. At petsmart I saw a 2.5 gallon tank with a lid for 12 bucks. I have 2 male bettas in a tank this size. All I needed to buy was 2 silk plants, gravel, water conditioner and food. Under 20$ each for everything. Good deal Betta starter kits are almost always to small.

  5. 1/2 gallon is too small. Forget the fact that pet stores often put bettas in those tiny cups, get something at least 5 gallons. You should get a tank or bowl that size, water conditioner, and food. Gravel and plant are optional but preferred. Everything should be at Petco or even Walmart.

  6. they need 5 gallons and a heater aswell

  7. NO dont buy it alls i have for my betta is a fish bowl and a fake plant w/ so rocks at the bottom and he's lived for about a year already! Just remember to clean the  bowl when its dirty and feed him oh and also it about cost me $8.00 maybe less
