HELP?! SAT II's and SAT?

I'm going into sophomore year of high school and I'm so confused. up until a few days ago i though that the only big test necessary for college was the SAT taken in eleventh grade. now i heard we have to take SAT II's. can someone please explain this to me?!

The very select colleges like to see SAT II's. Usually 2-3 of them of your choice. If you do not plan on going to the MOST Selective schools, don't worry about them. If you are, there are study guides just like for the SAT's. Good luck
