HELP! SOMETHINGS WRONG WITH MY GERBILS!?

my 2 female gerbils' noses bleed. its like dry blood crusted on the nose. they are in a wire cage and in carefresh bedding. i heard its either mucus or they always knaw at the wires and bleed from it. should i do anything about it? or is it ok?

carefresh is dusty and can be inhaled and may cause problems my animal science teacher said and i dont think that "wire" bars is a good thing to use they may cut it and escape, try to use metal bars there gnaw proof and see if anything improves if not try to see a vet.
