HELP SONY VAIO VS. IPHONE 3G QUSETIOn plz ten points people?

Here's the deal (I know some warm hearted people out there are going to be willing to answer this question to help me out with my future life).

This is the story. In 2010 I will be going to Law School and need a notebook. I'VE already decided it's going to be SONY VAIO NOTEBOOK, but I'm really a kind of person who always wants the latest technology. So anyway my birthday is coming up in October and I wanted really wanted the new iPhone 3G. So the question is if I should get the iPhone this year since I know I won't want to change it after because the cell phone is perfect and can't be made better and then get the notebook next year for my birthday, or do the opposite and get the notebook this year but risk missing out on the latest tecnology that can be made in the following year.

Please people help me decide.

i think you should get the iphone 3G for your birthday this year since it was just updated and the next update would add much more since it pretty much has everything hardware wise, and get the laptop the year you leave for school since laptops are going down in price and up in quality every year.

Im not an apple person, but this is an obvious choice. Go for the phone.

Vaio laptops arent even close to the best, Asus, Toshiba, and Lenovo stomp them easily. Lenovo is the best, longest battery life of any laptop by over 3 hours, for a total of up to 9, and they have whats called "turbo memory", which allows instant booting and loading of any programs you want. They also have special graphics cards which switch to power saving mode when not being used, which the others do not have. They are also competitive, cost wise. Lenovo is simply the best.
