HELP! Science Extra Credit?

during school yesterday my teacher got an empty giant fish tank and poured baking soda and vinegar in it. then she blew bubbles into it. then for some reason the bubbles floated inside the container. why did this happen? also if you say "do your homework yourself" then i will report your answer.

  1. Putting Baking Soda and Vinegar produces CARBON DIOXIDE. Carbon Dioxide is HEAVIER than oxygen. Therefore, Carbon Dioxide will stay in the fish tank. The bubbles that your teacher blew contains OXYGEN. Therefore, the bubbles seem to be floating in the fishtank but in reality, they are actually on top of a layer of carbon dioxide.


  2. the guy above me got it perfectly....CO2 gas has a higher molecular weight than the simple Oxygen gas....
