  1. Contact your bank and report it stolen immediately.  Your liability for unauthorized usage is dependent on how quickly you report it stolen.

If your card is stolen, your liability is limited to $50 if you report it within 2 business days.

Your liability rises to $500 if you report it stolen after that.

However, if only the information and not the physical card was stolen and used fraudulently, you have zero liability as long as it is reported with 60 days of the first fraudulent usage.

Banks are SLOW to investigate and refund money in these situations so the faster you report it lost/stolen, the better.  I have been a customer at my bank for 20 years and when my debit card was stolen, I reported it within a few hours.  Of course, it had already been used several times during those hours.  I requested a provisional credit which is where they put the money back into your account while they investigate.  (I had to really argue to get this even with a long history with the bank.)  If they decide it really was fraud, you keep the money.  I think it was a good 3 or 4 months before they finished the investigation and determined that my card really had been stolen and someone else had used it.

  2. In addition to notifying the bank and the police,  you should also contact the credit bureau immediately.

  3. You might wanna report it to your Bank instantly. So that they can close your debit card line.

  4. Immediately inform your bank to block the card through their call centre. Wait for some time before you take another card.
