  1. Cats are not as resiliant as we think they are.  Their skin moves so they don't suffer outward injuries, but they do suffer injuries inside.

Do whatever it takes, but get it to an emergency vet asap.  I'm not sure they can save it.

  2. I just lost a kitten for almost the same reason. If you notice that they all of the sudden stopped frolicking around like they usually do, it's not good.

I would try to take it to an er vet. If you can't, the chances of it living aren't good. Hope it gets better. Good luck.....

  3. well if your kitten was soaking wet when you found it, then it possibly went into the dogs mouth right?

the dog could of bitten it and punctured a lung or something.

i've had a kitten die from its mother laying on it by accident.

i'm not sure what it is, but hope you find out real soon.

  4. "Pretty Kitty's" answer is the correct one.  There's no way to begin to guess with so little informatino to go on.   Find a vet to call, right now, at the very least.  They may be able to tell you something to help, or at least ask the right questions to find out what might be the problem.

Immediate worry signs are if she's wobbly, if she isn't eating, if she's hot/feverish.

And next time your friends come -- they leave the dogs at home if you have kittens you can't secure properly in your home!   Even if the kitten wasn't hurt, it was certainly frightened and traumitized.  And if she was "screaming" -- I'm guessing hurt!

  5. it might be going through a bit of shock. as long as the dog didn't actually hurt the kitten i 'm sure it'll be fine.

  6. Call all the vets in the phone book until you find an answering machine that gives an emergency number. The kitten could have a punctured/collapsed lung or other injury. Shame on your friend for bringing dogs to your house when you have foster kittens! Now the poor kitten is suffering. There should be an emergency vet hospital open after hours or an on-call vet for after hours emergencies. Good luck and please post an update!

  7. Most vets have an emergency number. Look in the phone book under vets to find one who has an after hours number. If you don't find one look for an ER vet. At the very least, call the shelter and tell them. They may have a vet who does emergency work for them. I wouldn't wait.
