I am a really serious ballet dancer. I have been en pointe for 3 years now . I absolutely love ballet and I am really good at it (not just saying that). I am a soloist in my studios Nutcracker and i also have three other parts. I love my studio becuase i have made friends there and some of them even go to school with me. I just got moved up to the advanced class. I am 14. I just saw a performance in my towns common grounds by another local studio. THeir studio is devoted to ballet and pointe. the dancers are really good and have soo much emoition and grace and i feel i would fit in there really well. I try so hard and i feel liek the casting for my studios Nutcracker was abotu politics becuase 2 of the leads are not as good as me. I have watched back videos of my studios performances and i feel that no1 in my class is dancing from the heart or actually trying (and they are good) I really try. and my dance teacher who has danced in many professional companys sayed that i have the best stage presence.

  1. If you're serious about making dance your career, the best thing to do is audition for a professional school, such as the School of American Ballet, or whichever school is associated with your most local ballet company.  Sitching between local studios, even if one is better than the other, honestly, won't give you better career opportunities.  You have to be where professionals can see you.  Most professional dancers are offered places in Companies between the ages of 16 and 18.  If you're not considering dance as a professional, stay where you are and be with your friends.

  2. I had to do the same thing,

    but my other studio was just getting too easy lol. It ended up that I took a student teaching job there therefore got one class free, so signed up for one at the other studio and try my best to balance both,

    but if the recitals end on the same days i always choose my original studio.(;

    i hope my experience helped?

  3. try one of the other studios classes and see what you think and if its what you thought it was go for it! if those people get mad at you for leaving thats their problem and then their prob. not your true friend. hey i know i have to stop dance cause i don't have the time and the price is getting really bad and my teacher said I was really good so. gl!

  4. OK, thats not really a question, but I'm guessing you are wondering if you should stay or go. The thing you have to keep in mind is, its about you not them. I know you are 14 and you feel like having  friends is the most important thing, but its not. You could be holding yourself back from a great opportunity. 10 years from now, you will probably still be dancing somewhere but do you think those people you dance with now will still be your close friends? I would stick it out through the nutcracker so that you don't completely s***w them over, but then you need to go where you can grow the most.

  5. Follow your heart and do what you have to do. Don't let the others hold you back.

  6. You have to do whats best for you. If you want to progress as a dancer than hey, that's what your going to have to. And, I'm sure they will understand.
