HELP!! Terrible smell in kitchen sink ?

The smell is coming from the drain! It is horrible! Have tried bleach, also vinegar and baking soda, NOTHING WORKS!!! It does NOT smell under the sink. After I wash the dishes the towel under my dish drain smells too, Is it my water? Does NOT smell in bathroom.

  1. Try an industrial strength drain cleaner. Get it from Home Depot or Lowe's. Let it sit for 1/2 hour. Then flush with boiling hot water. It could be a piece of meat stuck down there.  


  2. If towels also smell bad it must be coming from the water.  Perhaps wet a clean towel and see if it smells the smell 'away' from the sink.

    if it is the water, but only in the kitchen, it is possible the source is the faucet.  Take the aerator off of the faucet and see if it is moldy.  Scrub the faucet, especially the underside and the area around the spout.  If it is an old faucet, consider replacing it, it might be mold inside the spout or decaying rubber causing the smell.

  3. My wife chops up lemons and limes and puts them in the garbage disposal and lets her rip.Seems to work well too.Good luck.
