Okay. I LOVE to run track and field ( hence my name) anyways, I just found out today that our "try-outs" are on monday, and i haven't been training yet. I have meant to do it soon, but now im really nervous about what to start with. So heres my question: How should i start to train in the mean time, before our "try-outs?" any tips or techniques i could use to boost my endurance? ( i usually run 100m sprint and realy 4th runner) - thanks =)

  1. The most important thing you can do now is stretch.  Your top speed time will not be there if you've been dormant.  You do not want to pull a quad or hamstring during tryouts though.  that will set you back quite a bit and hinder you making the team.

  2. IF you've only got until Monday to get ready, then STRETCH, a LOT! Other than that, there's nothing significant you can do between now and then that can prepare you. You could try fasting until Sunday evening, then carb-loading to help boost your energy level. Good luck!

  3. Its your event and you havent been training?

Just run everyday...and you can do some 150 -200 m strides at 95% stretch and cooldown.

let your coach do the rest

  4. start booking it...
