HELP! Troubleshooting lost pics on SanDisk 256MB SD card?

Question

put card in my printer to download to computer and it flashed red, error message "memory card error". Put back in camera and got "card error". How did this happen and how do I get my pics?? HELP

Hey the first thing to check is if the card is locked. There should be a small switch on the side of the card to lock it from accidental overwriting. This could be causing the printer to not be able to read the card properly. Try inserting the card with the switch in a different position. Also, the card may need re-formatting. You can pick up digital card readers real cheap now that run into your computer via. USB. This would allow you to get a better idea of the problem and you may be able to get the photos off this way as well.

You might be able to get your images back with the help of an image recovery program.  Google lists several, but I've never tried any, so I can't tell you how well any of them works.  Just don't try using or formatting the card before you try recovering images or they will be gone for good.
