HELP! UK shoe sizes for men?

Hi there just a little background...

i have a male friend who wears shoe size 5 but he is always complaining that he can't get the shoes he desires because of his feet.

Now the weird thing is, if he wore shoe size 6 or 7 the width will fit him but the length becomes more awkward, i told him to get over his deformed feet and he threw a fit (no he's not g*y). Can anyone help me on how men should wear shoes and help him out he's too stupid to ask himself in shoe shop.

Are his feet narrow? If they are then he should get Pumas they are SO comfortable and the stretch a little so they will fit his feet (around the toes). I wear a size 12 and my food is medium. Just Buy the bigger sizes.

Otherwise, I think Clarks shoes sometimes come in different width fittings.
