A certain strain of bacteria grows from 40 to 326 in 120 minutes. find k for the growth fomula

how do i solve this problem plz help=D

i'm not sure if this is the way you meant it....but i'm using the exponential function (e)

'x' is the value we have to find

326=40e^(x(120))

326/40=e^(x(120))      

8.15=e^(x(120))

log 8.15=120x log e        use the log rule to find x

(log 8.15/log e) =120x      

2.098017=120x

2.098017/120 =x

x=0.0175 (estimated)

so the growth formula is  40e^(0.0175t)

t is in minutes

you can check it by sustituting 't' with 120
