HELP WEDDING TROUBLES?

What do you do when you putting your wedding annoucement in the paper and your telling who the grooms parents are but his real mothr is deceased and you want to still include the step mom and the real mom?

put the dad name and the step mom name and the late mom name

There are two ways to do it.

One is to say

Today we celebrate the wedding day of

Alice Jones

daughter of Alan and Betty Jones

to Ryan Smith

son of Frank and Mary Smith and the late Catherine Blah

(where Mary is the stepmother and Catherine is the birth mother)

The other way would be

Today we celebrate the wedding day of

Alice Jones

daughter of Alan and Betty Jones

to Ryan Smith

son of Frank and Mary Smith and Catherine Blah (Dec.)

(where Mary is the stepmother and Catherine is the birth mother and the Dec. in brackets is standard advertising to state that the afore mentioned person is deceased)

Not sure exactly how you would word it, however, when you place those announcements, most papers have writers who are experienced in writing them and they will help you word it correctly.  I am sure they have dealt with this situation before.
