I am trying to set up file sharing between my Desktop PC and My Laptop PC. I have a wireless/wired network which both connect to the internet through.

The Desktop is the wired PC and I need to access files on the desktop from my laptop. The Laptop is the wireless PC. I also need access to my printer which is connected to my Desktop. Can this be done? If so, how do i do this?

Thanks in Advanced

  1. yes it can.....buy a wireless router...a router allows the wired connection ( connected to your desktop) be transmitted wirelessly.....this means your laptop can connect as well...

  2. this is easy..

1.make sure they are both in the same workgroup

2.enable printer and file sharing and make sure you set the exception for this in your firewall..

if this is too hard then get a thumb\flash\jump drive.. but really its not that hard to do

  3. Yes, as long as your wireless is also a router.

Need to know what OS your using.

If Microsoft, there is a config wizard built in, have to run it on both PC and Laptop.

To network your printer, you have to set up one of the PC's as host for the printer, then enable printer sharing.
