  1. this is an exercise to get you familiar with how german words conjugate.

    helfen to Ich helfe

    Ice helfe to helfen

    1 wil be easy

    2/3/4 changes spelling

    5 is an example w an indirect object

    6/7/8/9 also change spelling

    these are probably some of the harder verbs your class has covered.

  2. He goes

    it gives

    he wants

    she will

    it pleases him

    he has

    he must

    I can

    She is, or they are.

  3. turn the conjugated verbs back to infinitives.

    1. fahren

    2. geben

    3. wollen

    4. werden

    5.gefallen

    6. haben

    7. müssen

    8.können

    9.sein

  4. If that's all you have in the way of directions, then I would say you take the conjugated form of the verb (what they've given you) and try to figure out what the basic "infinitive" form (the one ending in -en) was. For example,

    ich habe---->haben

    du trinkst---->trinken

    sie geht----->gehen

    etc. I hesitate to give you direct answers as it is homework, but the pattern should help.

  5. It means find the infinitive form corresponding to each of these conjugated verbs.

    for example er fahrt = fahren

  6. we cant put those little dots over the A and U - also that funny looking B is a double ss with an elongated leg, Only in Germany you say ?

    50 years ago they were talking about doing away with it .# 7

  7. The infinitive form of a verb is the basic form found in dictionary entries and is equivalent to the English form with to + the simple verb.

    Most German infinitives end in -en with the exception of two .....sein &  tun.

    Here is your answer:

    1. fahren

    2. geben

    3. wollen

    4. werden

    5. gefallen

    6. haben

    7. müssen

    8. können

    9. sein

    for a double ss  hold down  "Alt" and  225 = ß
