HELP WITH RAT my rats nose is ?

av just gave my rat a bath and her nose is bleeding im sceard please help

It's not blood. it's a red discharge that is caused by stress or depression. Dont give her any more baths unless she really needs it. She probably doesnt like and is stressed out. She might be depressed because shes living alone? I hope you have another rat with her because if not, then thats why shes depressed. Rats are very social and need another rat friend. It might also be because she does not get enought attention from you.

I suggest taking her to the vet to get her checked out. And don't tell me you cant afford the vet because that would be irresponsible and not very nice to your rat. Good Luck!!

Is it really blood?

Because sometimes rat's nose or eyes excrete a liquid very similar to blood. It's called porphyrine and it's normal. No worries:)

You should be careful while giving a bath, the head must be above water.

It's porphyrin, not blood, that's caused by stress.  One of my rats got it for the first time yesterday after a visit to the vet.

"3.3 What's that red stuff around my rat's eyes and nose?

The red stuff sometimes seen around a rat's eyes and nose is called porphyrin. It is produced by a gland behind the eyeball and helps lubricate the eye. Porphyrin naturally drains from the eye down into the nose through a small tear duct. Small amounts of porphyrin seen every now and then are normal.

However, when a rat is stressed, it may overproduce porphyrin, which may overflow the eyelids and form a red crust around the eye. Porphyrin may also overflow the nose, creating a red crust around the nostrils. This condition is called chromodacryorrhea and is a sign of illness or stress."
