  1. THe GI Bill was an act to provide college and vocational education for any WWII veterans, as well as 1 years worth of unemployment compensation.

  2. I'm not sure for the second one but I can answer the first question:

East Germany, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Czechoslovakia and Albania.

Yugoslavia was also communist and than later socialist country but had a special relations with the USSR.

  3. A) Pretty much all of Eastern Europe- Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, the Baltic countries, etc.

    B) The GI Bill provided financial benefits to war veterans, ie, college tuition, housing, job training, etc.

  4. Bigredan gave the most appropriate answer. Tho Albania, for quite some time was another satellite of USSR, later on they departed from the USSR club thx to the caprices of Enver Hoca, the absolute dictator of Albania. Yugoslavia had somewhat good relations with Soviet Union but Tito was a man of strategy and when he didnt like something Russians did he was leaning his back against West, he was playing push and pull always. Tho they also started out as pro-USSR like Albania did.

Wiki provides good info about GI BILL

  5. Satellites of the Soviet Union:

Poland, East Germany, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria.

    Non-Soviet Communist East-European countries:

    Albania, Yugoslavia

Formerly independent countries that were absorbed into the USSR after WW2:

Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia (and part of Slovakia called Eastern Ruthenia, and the Romanian province of Moldavia)
