  1. It is blood but under the skin, unless you can see it dripping off,  If they are males seperate them now, if they are male and female you are about to have alot more hamsters, and if two females you can leave them together as long as they have enough space.

  2. The only hamsters I know about for sure are Syrian hamsters, the ones that have been kept as pets in the U.S. for many years. One odd thing about them is that the females are more territorial than the males. Unless the female is in heat, and in a good mood (receptive), she will fight with any other hamster and can be very vicious.

Put them in different cages. Use a 10 gallon fish tank (with a screen lid) if you don't have another cage. Keep an eye on both of them, and do NOT put them back together.

    Good luck!

  3. Are they syrian hamsters? If so, then YES. Hamsters are highly territorial and should NOT be kept together or they will fight. Some dwarf hamsters can be kept together under the right circumstances but never syrians. Check for injuries and take your hamster to the vet if it's hurt.

  4. Are you using a wire cage for your hamsters? When I first had hamsters, I had bought a wire cage and my hammies had red feet because the base of the cage was also wire. However when I changed the cage to a plastic bottomed one, then the redness in the feet disappeared. It is due to undue pressure on their feet due to walking on the wires.

Also check the hamster bedding. It should be only aspen shavings or carefresh. If you are using pine or cedar, then change it immediately as that could also cause red feet in hamsters due to sharp edges.

If your hamsters are Syrian, then you should separate them immediately. If they are dwarfs, then check for any vicious fighting between them or any visible signs of injury on their bodies before confirming that they are fighting.

In all probability, the hamster has just hurts his foot somewhere and it is not the outcome of a fight unless it has blood dripping from the wound.

  5. what type of hamster are they? if they are syrian then seperate them immediately!!!! they will fight till the death. they must live alone

  6. Definately if they are guys.  You might want to seperate them.

  7. maybe they fight you might need a different cage
