HELP ME!!! What can i put in a 1 and a half gallon aquarium? I don't want any fish in it though. Please tell me what animals i could put in it, and what they need like types of food, special care, water temp., heater, etc. will these animals go good with my snail? my tank is filtered and is freshwater.

  1. You could get an african dwarf frog or some shrimp.  Ghost shrimp are very cheap and quite interesting to watch moving around a small tank.  They eat algae and small bits of fish food, so you can probably just feed them whatever you feed your snail.  Red cherry shrimp are cool, too although they tend to be more expensive than ghost shrimp and a bit harder to find and I think they prefer it a little warmer.  You don't mention if you have a heater or not.  I think both kinds of shrimp can handle room temperature water though.

  2. Aquatic frogs....they can live for years....cheap food at the pet shop...does not require a filter or heater.

  3. wth can snails live underwater.

  4. All I can say is NOT a turtle! The smallest turtle I know of (Musk turtles) Need a 40 gallon tank. Even a 1 inch long turtle would bemisrible in that little tank. Ok, 2 african dwarf frogs would be a very good choice4. I would say no crabs or craw fish because they will eat everything else in the tank other that a snail, plus there are no crabs small enough, the smallest crab needs at least 10 gallons. Plus those frogs and a snail is already pretty full, you can probably squeeze in a betta as long as you have a filter and heater. Make sure the tank is cycled before you add the frogs, they will croack with bad water quality and can not take the cycling process.. If you have any questions on african dwarf frogs, e-mail me! I have 2 and am planning on breeding once the female matures.=)

  5. Hey Jess you could probably keep a turtle or two, the baby ones they have at the pet store. A local Pet store should make available the appropriate food for them. Special care shouldn't be that much of an hassle ,you would probably need to clean the filter weekly and ensure the water level is maintained and oh its most important that some kind of flotation is apart of the habitat for em to rest and a good reptile lamp would be good.In decorating the tank the coarsest type of gravel would be good and the choice is up to you what colour and textures you use.

  6. maybe hermit crab
