To make a very long story short we ended up getting one of our puppies back from our second litter. He ended up with parvo and the new owners said they could afford the vet bills and take care of the other male puppy we gave them. After being discusted with the owners we nursed him back to health...He was picked on by his brother with the other owners and then about six months after he was healthy, we are assuming that he was going through puberty, we went to bring the dogs inside and he was laying there bleeding. we heard a yelp only once and we thought they were just playing and because we didn't hear any other noises we didn't go check on them. We took him to the vet and got him all patched up and kept him inside by himself until he got healed...we reinroduced the males and they were doing fine up until about a month ago then they got in another fight this time in our living room...they were fighting over who got to lay underneath the computer desk (heaven forbid they could just share the space) but after we FINALLY got them separated we have kept them apart ever since...the youngest male will growl at the older male every time he sees him, our older male could really careless if he sees him or not...but they see each other through the fence...tonight as my husband went to go feed them the youngest male was being edgy (we feed them three times a day so i don't think it was because he was hungry)...my husband tried to go and feed one of the females and he latched on and the fight began...the female is alittle shaken up and has some bleeding (nothing terrible) but my question is when is this going to stop??? is there anything we can do to get him to knock off this behavior??? its hard enough keeping our males separate ...all of our dogs use to get along with each other except for our males and now none of the dogs can be with the youngest male....is our only option to put him down??? i would hate to give someone else an aggresive dog...and none of our friends can have a dog or already have dogs...i hate to lose him but i don't know what else to do....

  1. NEUTER all your males and find a good dog trainer.

  2. 1 - feed in crates or pens - 10 feet away is not sufficient

2 - neuter - although it will take some time for the hormones to leave the building.

3 - some breeds have to establish pack order - some breeds do not exist as a happy family of many boys and or many girls together don't know what your breed is but sounds like a dominance thing.

4 - know the dominance level of your dogs sounds like you have 2 type A males and they will never get along

  3. neuter him, if that doesnt work, put him down because he could start attacking people and that is horrible and why do you want an aggressive dog, put him down

  4. All of your dogs are trying to establish their position in your pack. If the males are not neutered the fighting will never stop. You have a tough problem here, your going to have to get tough with all of them first by establishing yourself as the dominate figure. It sounds like they need your attention more.Teach them sit , stay, come heal etc. leash training and obedience training would be helpful, they have it at pet-smart. Just like children if you give something to one, you have to give it to the others. Sound like you may have to find a home for one of the males, but please don't put him down. there is a place that he will fit in somewhere.  Good luck  P.S. you might want to read "Its me our the dog" by victoria stillwell

  5. NEUTER him, it'll lower the testosterone levels in the dog and avoid the aggression issues.

Can you use pet gates in the house to keep them separate?

Are they all eating from a communal bowl? You may need multiple separate bowls. (you didn't say what their eating format was).

Indoor soft muzzles can help on the aggressive dog.

How OLD is the young dog?  Options vary with the age and the length of the problem.

  6. Are these jack russells?
